How to play Texas Holdem
Texas Holdem
Texas Holdem is the most popular variation of poker. You can play it almost at every Internet casino. Texas Holdem gained such a great popularity thanks to the fact that its rules are very simple and everyone can learn them immediately. On the other hand, however, it is not just the good luck that is crucial in the long run, but the player`s skills.
The objective
The goal of the game is to deal the best five-card poker hand. This hand we form out of the cards received at the beginning of the game and the next five, which are dealt on the table later on during the play.
The rules
The Texas Holdem can be divided into several parts. In each of them the players get the next cards, then they decide whether they continue to play, if their cards are good, or pass, if they have no chance to win.
At the very beginning, even before dealing the cards, two players on the left from the dealer (marked with "D" letter) bet twice blind (Small and Big Blind).
Then the players get two cards each (pocket cards). In the next three rounds next cards are dealt on the table:
- Flop - three cards
- Turn - one card
- River - one card
In each round the players can decide, if the present configuration of cards is strong enough to:
- Check - to play on,
- Call/Bet - to enter the game with the bigger bet,
- Raise - to raise the current bet,
- Fold - to pass - to stop betting on this hand and forfeit the current bets.
After all the rounds each player, who is still in the game, shows two cards which make the hand with the chosen three cards from the table. The player with the best hand wins, taking all the money left by the players. Check below the ranking of poker hands to know who take the money from the table!
